This article highlights achievements of homeschoolers in sports and provides helpful information about starting homeschool sports programs. Bluegrass United Soccer
This co-ed soccer team for students in 9-12th grades competes against area Christian schools and recreational teams. This is a competitive team for experienced soccer players. The team practices twice a week during regular season and once a week at an indoor facility during off-season. The 2004 team finished its regular season with just one loss, competed in the Landmark Invitational Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky and won the Kentucky State Homeschool Soccer Tournament in Frankfort, Kentucky. Volunteer Coordinator needed for homeschool sports
KHEA is hoping to add a Bulletin Board and/ or email group for homeschool sports teams. We realize that there are homeschool sports teams sprinkled across the state who would like to connect with other homeschool sports teams. Wouldnt it be great if your high school girls basketball team could play another homeschool girls team? Wed like to help you connect. If you are interested in helping to get this started, please contact Connie Laffin, KHEA President, at laffinatu2@hotmail.com. We are looking for someone to coordinate gathering and updating the Bulletin Board information. It should not involve a lot of time committment, but having email is a must.
